Deep Thoughts on… life and happiness

Loves It....You know what’s tough? Life. It’s the good, the bad, the whirlwind of everything, the success, the failure, the joy and sorrow, the hard work, the luck and the only thing we have. So what makes a good life; a life worth living? Is it the people in it, the places you’ve gone, the things you’ve seen, the knowledge you’ve amassed? Or is every life a good life, simply because life is the epitome of possibility, and life is what you make of it?

I feel that life is what you make of it, and not just because I’ve seen “The Secret” (although, full disclosure here, I do have to admit that it’s one of my favorite movies/books/books on tape!). With all the different possibilities and opportunities out there in the world, I’m not convinced that things happen at random. And though many find comfort in theories of predetermined fate, for me that idea is too constraining on my freedom of choice. I love to think that life is a series of choices an individual makes and that you can choose to end up wherever you want, however you want. After all, isn’t that what our parents tell us when we are young and impressionable?“You can be whatever you want when you grow up,” they state reassuringly, and we believe them because they’re our parents and we love and trust them. But then something happens as we get older, and we find ourselves becoming cynical towards the idea of doing and being anything. In the process many of us relinquish our dreams altogether for what we think is the practical reality of things. However, I would argue that our reality is whatever we create, and all we have to do is look around us to take inventory of the fruits of our creations. Do you like what you see?

If you don’t like what you see, change it. I know – easily said, difficult to accomplish. Change is hard but it can be a beautiful thing. Like life, change offers us the magical world of possibility and hope; the world where all your wildest dreams can come true. To embrace it, all you have to do is find that little kid inside of you and really believe. Screw cynicism, toss out negativity and open yourself up to the possibilities of you and your life. Do what makes you happy, because happiness is the key to fulfillment. And if you feel fulfilled, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that you’ve found the meaning of life: To feel whole, happy and fulfilled down to the very last fiber of your being. If it sounds too good to be true, open your heart to the possibility and believe. Do what makes you happy and happiness will find you –  and fulfill you.

This is a good blog. Thank you for sharing. I especially love that picture that you are showing us. I have to comment my thoughts about this picture. I love this picture i learned so much from this. I see a lady walking down a road she is aware about the road that life offers she is aware that life is a journey, filled with paths. She knows where she is going and she wants to get there. So she walks. Shes in the middle of her journey she made some choices. She is aware every choice will affect her path. So she makes sure she stays on the trail (it wouldn’t make sense to run in the bushes when she knows her destination is on the trail). Pictures do really tell a thousand words.

  3. It’s funny how life is you are born you grow up and enjoy the simple things that life has to offer from Video games to Barbie Dolls to playing outside or riding a bike with your friends everything is simple. The hardest things to deal with is what car am i going to buy when i finally get my Driver’s License to what Dress the girls will wear to the prom to what car the men are rentening. To who will be Prom king and Queen to your first kiss and to the first time you had sex life was simple then. As you grow so does life with you along side you like a shadow high above you , you begin to see things change your body, health, and mind all affected by this thing called life and yet we prey for a better way to live it. We continoue growing our minds getting stronger with knowledge and our body’s strong with nutrients and hermones. Some go back to school others find jobs and others join the military all is good but one thing is certain life is hard the times of bike riding and playing with dolls are long gone and now you are a man or a women able to breed able to go on with this never ending battle of problems, bills, and frustrations. Things that were unheard of when life was simple. Life goes on your older and wiser and stronger mentally finally its come the Son has become a father and the duaghter a mother and there a new cycle of life emerges able to see everything you did once again as if stepping through a time machine and watching your self play all over again you live once more through them as you once did so many years ago and for a brief and short moment in your current life your there. As life goes on in conclusion our body’s tired and weak our minds old and withered we are gone from this earth and enter the unknown. All thats left is our memory through our loved ones and through our new created lives. And as we luanch toward the skys we know the answer to that question so many have pondered with “What is the meaning of Life” to me its simple but to others its a question that will take a entire life cycle to get answered. Cherish your life live it wisely learn from your mistakes and see the world and the marvels in it and enjoy life till its grand finale becuase 100years of life is to short.
